What happens with good sex? Sex toys and role-playing games, or candlelight and intimacy? Research is now explaining the big gender blunders.
 
Every year since 2005, the well-known dating website Elite Partner has been conducting a detailed survey in which German singles and couples are asked about various topics relating to partnership and sexuality.

This study is considered one of the partnership testing studies in the country. Several thousand people take part in the survey every year. In 2022, a representative sample of the population was asked what factors make good sex.

Both women and men reported that intimacy, tenderness and closeness are extremely important to them. This aspect was mentioned by 68 women and 58 men. About half of men and women enjoy cuddling after sex or just cuddling for a while.
The third most important thing about sex is gentle touch. There are almost no gender differences here.
For both sexes, orgasm is fourth on the list of priorities.
 
Surprisingly, men were slightly more apprehensive than women when it came to talking about sex. The importance of communication was emphasized by 52 men compared to 40 women. It was particularly about the naming of erotic desires.

Instead, a romantic setting was only important to 28% and only 14% rated swear words.
Only 17 respondents considered the use of sex toys important, and only 10 Germans stated that they were interested in “hard sex”.
